“I will be forever indebted to the Gold Standard Charitable Trust (GSCT) for giving my child the positive life-changing opportunity of going to an amazing school. My child is being given a rigorous world quality education in a school where not only is the academic program superb but strong values and moral compass are embedded in everyday school life."

“The excellent pastoral care at the school supports every child in their learning journey. As well as this, the school has a devoted team of exceptional staff who are super-efficient, kind, discrete, patient and very understanding of our circumstances. I cannot thank the school or Coral at GSCT enough."

Headteachers' perspectives

Headmaster of Wetherby Senior School writes about Max* who has received a 100% GSCT award

Max has had a real impact on the school community since joining us in September. He has embraced the academic challenges set by the teaching staff and has made great progress in all areas of the curriculum with his last report highlighting Maths and Latin as real strengths. It is a real credit to him that he has managed to maintain such high standards whilst taking on significant commitments both in and out of school. He is well known around the school for his contribution to the performing arts.

"I am often asked by parents what makes a Wetherby boy and Max is one of the examples I like to give: he is engaged academically, he makes the most of the opportunities the school offers and he is an enthusiastic, kind and supportive member of the community who quickly made firm friendships with the other boys."

"Charlie has quietly and purposefully brought a great deal to the School. We are delighted that the Gold Standard Charitable Trust helps us welcome such outstanding students."

Maya - Pembridge Hall

From Maya's Mother

"What an amazing two years my daughter has had at Pembridge Hall. It has been a delight to watch my little girl thrive. It took her a few months to find her way and make new friends but she was able to settle in nicely with the help and support of the teachers. Thank you for seeing something extraordinary in Maya and giving her the opportunity of a private education. I will forever be grateful for all your help, support, advice and kindness. There is a beautiful team spirit at Pembridge Hall; everyone made an effort to help Maya settle in.

Maya's attitude and approach to the 11+ exam was extraordinary. She takes a confident, mature approach. With the school's help, Maya has been offered a place at Queen’s College on a 100% bursary. I cannot explain how much this means to us. Maya is so excited she is already planning her journey to her new school."

Pastoral Care

From a Play Therapist who has been working with a student whose therapy has been sponsored by the GSCT

From the parents of the student

"Our son is a child who requires significant SEN support, which, for now at least, is best served by external specialists outside of school. Unfortunately, the cost of such support is almost as much as the school fees. We simply have not been able to afford to pay both. The GSCT bursary has enabled our son to stay in the happy and social environment of the School whilst also benefiting from external specialist SEN support.

What a difference we are seeing this term! We have a happy and engaged child who is making real progress. It’s the perfect example of a school working in harmony with a family and a specialist group for the benefit of the child and it has all been made possible by the Gold Standard Charitable Trust. Thank you GSCT, we could not be happier or more grateful"
